About the College
- The Mental Health Institute (MHI), part of SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, is a government‑run “Centre of Excellence (CoE)” in mental health for the state of Odisha.
- It provides mental health care, psychiatric treatment services, and also academic training and research in psychiatry, clinical psychology, psychiatric social work, and psychiatric nursing.
- Over the decades, MHI has expanded its departments: along with Psychiatry, it now includes independent Departments of Clinical Psychology, Psychiatric Social Work, and Psychiatric Nursing — enabling a multi‑disciplinary approach to mental health care.
