About the College
- The Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), named after the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Christian minority institution managed by the Amala Cancer Hospital Society under the Devamatha Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) religious congregation. It traces its origins to the Amala Cancer Hospital started in 1978. AIMS functions as a multidisciplinary medical network with pedagogical, therapeutic, research, and outreach programs, housing a Medical College, College of Nursing, Nursing School, Super Speciality Hospital, Teaching Hospital, and research centers for various systems of medicine (Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy). Its mission is to provide effective training to healthcare professionals devoted to the healing ministry.
