About the College
Agragati Institute of Health Sciences (AIHS) Nursing Education Unit was launched by the registered society Agragati, which has been active since 1979 (Registration No. S/26356).
The nursing college was proposed and approved in June 2021, with foundation stone laid on 14‑08‑2021 at Rashpur, Amta (Howrah) in response to healthcare needs amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The college started offering nursing education from the 2022‑23 academic session, with both B.Sc (Nursing) and GNM courses (each 60 seats as per INC / West Bengal Nursing Council recognition).
The campus includes: spacious classrooms; modern laboratories (foundation lab, community health & nursing lab, nutrition lab, etc.); a multipurpose hall (250 seating capacity); a well-stocked library with internet facility; sports facilities (football, cricket, badminton, carom); and a separate hostel building with “all modern facilities”.
The institute claims to provide holistic nursing education aiming to prepare competent, compassionate nurses to serve both hospital and community health needs.
